This small village is just in between the cities of Benissa and Gata de Gorgos and is just about 6 kilometers from the port of Moraira. This little village has history dating back to the period of Moors. Moors fortified the village to guard against pirate attack. It was a village surviving on fishing; but now it is a tourist spot and also a popular agricultural village having rich vegetation. This tiny village has many things to offer a tourist. Let us begin our tour of the village by visiting the Parish church.

The parish church:

This church can be called the ultimate in architectural beauty. This is actually a hermitage. It also has a tower which was used for defense against pirates. The church is built in Moorish architectural design and is known for its beautiful environment. This church is built inside a beautiful castle. The castle and the church are the most ideal places to view the most imposing view of the sea and the natural beauty around it.

The beach of Moraira:

The beach is just about six kilometers from Teulada. The transparent water of the beach speaks of the cleanliness of the beach. The fine sand dotted with some bars and cafes to refresh you with the popular wine and other mouth watering sea food is a welcome sign for the tourists. There are many water sports including boating, fishing, etc. Some of the most famous beaches around Teulada are the beach of La Ampolla, Del Portet, etc.

The wine:

The white wine of Teulada is most popular not only in Spain but across the globe. Teulada has a large area under pine and grape cultivation. The very fact that the wine produced by this unit has won several international awards speaks of the quality of the products produced here.

Festivals:

We learn more about the place and the people only when we participate in the festivals held there. So, now let us participate in the festivals held in Teulada. The festival of Moros Christanos and the festival of fisherman held in honor of Virgen los Desamparados which are held in the month of June are some of the most important festivals which attract huge crowds. Spectacular fire works are displayed on this occasion. The entire village is fabulously illuminated.
