1. Carmona:
This is a small village which is enriched with a great historical background. According to the historical facts, this tiny village has its link with history before the year 206 BC. During that time this village was occupied by the Romans. With time after that, there came many nations which ruled this place and every occupation has left its own history and traces in this small place. The place has wonderful architectural history.
2. Zafra:
This place has a lot for those who love Picasso. The buildings of Zafra are enriched with the great architect’s work. This place is known to be famous for originating the Cubist Movement as Picasso was among the originators of the movement. There is a castle in Zafra which has its history dating back to the 15th century. This castle is very beautiful and it has been preserved well by the authorities.
3. Ronda:
Ronda is sliced in two parts by a deep ravine and these two parts are connected through the bridges which cross the gorge. This place is known to have Moorish history as the streets in Ronda are narrow. The landscapes of this village are marvelous and beautiful. This place is famous for having the breeds of bulls which are used in bull fighting and it is known for bull fighting as well.
4. Santillana del Mar:
This village is also named as the “prettiest village” in Spain and this name was given by Jean Paul Sartre. This village is located at a distance of five kilometers from the coast and the place is a real natural beauty. Cuevas de Altamira site can be visited from this village. It has a number of buildings which highlight the Roman style of architecture. This place gives a feel of medieval times as there are small producers of cheese and milk who sell these products from their places.
5. Mijas:
Mijas is a small village which is situated along the Costa del Sol beaches. This village has plenty of Spanish history and culture. It also gives the feeling of medieval times which is far away from today’s modern world.
